California Consumer Privacy Act (CCPA) Notice at Collection for Prospective Employees

Fidelity National Financial, Inc. and its majority-owned subsidiary companies (collectively, “FNF,” “our,” or “we”) provide this notice to inform you of the personal information that FNF® collects, and the purposes for that collection, from its prospective employees who are California residents (“Prospective Employee Personal Information”).  Prospective Employees for the purposes of this notice include California residents that are interested in or have applied for employment with FNF®.


Categories of Prospective Employee Personal Information Collected:

  • Identification data (e.g., name, postal address, date of birth, social security number, driver’s license number, email address, and (emergency) contact details);
  • Records of work and education history (including a resume or CV provided by the employee);
  • Human Resources information provided in association with applying for employment;
  • Internet or other electronic network activity, such as IP address, regarding a consumer’s interaction with an Internet website;
  • Characteristics of protected classifications under California or federal law (e.g., racial or ethnic origin);
  • Information about an applicant’s job preferences, attitudes, abilities, and qualifications;
  • Other information voluntarily disclosed by the employee.

Purposes for the Collection:

  • Communicating with you;
  • To comply with all applicable laws and regulations;
  • To comply with FNF®’s employment law obligations and policies and equal opportunity monitoring purposes;
  • Collecting and processing your employment application, including confirming your eligibility, performing background checks, and onboarding you;
  • To make a decision about employment, recruitment, or appointment.

If you do not provide certain Prospective Employee Personal Information when requested, FNF® may not be able to properly respond to any application or request for employment.

FNF® does not sell or share Prospective Employee Personal Information.


Retention Periods:

FNF® retains categories of information as reasonably necessary to satisfy the purpose for which we collect the information. This time period varies depending on the purpose for which we collected the information, the nature and frequency of our interactions and relationship with you, your employment status with FNF®, how long you have been employed, whether we have a legal basis to continue retaining the information, industry practices, the value and sensitivity of the information, and state and federal recordkeeping requirements.
